FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the weekend look like?
We’re celebrating all weekend long and would love to see you at whatever events you’re able to attend.
Friday: Rooftop Welcome Party at Edgewater Public Market from 6:00–9:00 PM
Saturday: Wedding Celebration at Dunafon Castle from 4:00–10:30 PM
Sunday: Farewell Brunch at Bear Creek Park from 10:30 AM–2:00 PM
Feel free to stop by Sunday whenever works best for you.
What is the dress code?
The dress code varies by event:
Friday – Rooftop Welcome Party: Smart Casual
Saturday – Wedding Celebration: Semi-Formal
Sunday – Farewell Brunch: Casual
For Saturday, please keep in mind that the ceremony and celebration take place at Dunafon Castle, which includes outdoor areas and uneven brick and stone surfaces. Comfortable shoes and a light layer for the evening are a good idea.
Where should I stay?
We have a room block at the Holiday Inn Denver Lakewood. To book, call 303-980-9200 and ask for the Derosier/Swindler Wedding Block.
Please note that the block will be released on May 27, so we recommend booking before then. We’ve also shared additional nearby hotel options on the site for guests who would prefer something different.
Is there a shuttle to the wedding?
Yes. We will have a complimentary shuttle for wedding guests traveling between the Holiday Inn Denver Lakewood and Dunafon Castle, with return service to the hotel at the end of the night. If you want the simplest transportation plan, staying at the hotel block and taking the shuttle is the easiest option.
Are children invited?
While we love your little ones, our Wedding Celebration on Saturday will be adults-only. Children are absolutely welcome at the Rooftop Welcome Party on Friday and the Farewell Brunch on Sunday.
For guests who would like childcare during the wedding, we’ve arranged a discount with Call Emmy. Use code Alex&Sam4Ever for 20% off.
How do meal selections and dietary restrictions work?
When you RSVP, please select your entrée choice and note any dietary restrictions for each guest in your party. We’re collecting that information through the RSVP form so we can plan accurately with our caterer.
Please RSVP by May 29.
When should I arrive?
Please plan to arrive 20–30 minutes before the ceremony to allow time for valet parking and check-in. Our ceremony begins promptly at 4:00 pm. If you arrive after the ceremony has started, you may be asked to wait until it concludes before entering.
Is parking available?
Yes. Courtesy valet parking will be available at Dunafon Castle for all wedding guests. If you drive, keep anything you may need during the evening with you rather than leaving it in the car. Please note that overnight parking is not permitted at the venue.
Can I use Uber or Lyft, and will there be cell service at the venue?
Cell reception at Dunafon Castle is very limited, so please plan ahead and coordinate with your party before arriving. If you are driving rather than taking the shuttle, we recommend downloading offline maps in advance.
We also do not recommend relying on Uber or Lyft for your ride home, as rideshare service can be difficult to secure from the venue later in the evening.
What should I know about weather, shoes, and altitude?
Dunafon Castle is a beautiful mountain venue, and the celebration will take place outdoors. The property includes brick, stone, and uneven walking surfaces, so we recommend wearing shoes you can comfortably walk in.
Even summer evenings can cool off in Colorado, so bringing a light layer is a good idea. Denver sits at high elevation, and the venue is even higher, so be sure to hydrate more than you think you need to, especially if you’ll be enjoying celebratory drinks.
What is an unplugged ceremony?
We’ve chosen to have an unplugged ceremony, which means we ask that phones, cameras, and devices be put away during the ceremony. This allows everyone to be fully present with us in the moment. Our photographer will capture everything, and we’ll be glad to share those memories afterward.
Do I need to sign anything at arrival?
Yes. The venue requires all guests to sign a liability waiver upon arrival. This will be handled during valet and check-in and should be quick and easy.
